01. FUNCTION OF AIR RELEASE VALVE

An Air Release Valve releases air pockets that collect at each high point of a fully pressured pipeline. An air release valve can open against internal pressure because the internal lever mechanism multiplies the float force to be greater than the internal pressure.

02. INSTALLATION OF AIR RELEASE VALVE

The installation of the valve is important for its proper operation. Valves must be installed at the system’s high points in the vertical position with the inlet down. A vault with freeze protection, adequate screened venting, and drainage for pipeline service should be provided.
